Orion Nova at orion-nova.io (the "Service"), including its software, design, text, graphics, layout, user interface, data model, and the compilation and arrangement of its content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Except as expressly permitted in the Terms of Service or with prior written permission, no part of the Service may be copied, reproduced, republished, distributed, displayed, or used to create derivative works.
Ownership: two things, two owners
They are deliberately kept separate.
- The platform. Orion Network LLC owns Orion Nova — its source code, design, interface, data model, and underlying components — and licenses access to it under subscription. Nothing in a subscription transfers ownership of the platform.
- Customer Data. All land, ownership, mapping, leasing, brokerage, financial, personnel, crew, and project data held in a Customer's workspace, and the reports, exports, and deliverables produced from it, belong to that Customer, or to the Customer's own client where the Customer holds it on their behalf. Orion claims no ownership of it, uses it only to operate and support the Service for that Customer, does not disclose it to third parties outside the published Subprocessor List, does not make it available to any other Customer, and does not use it to train machine learning models.
Nothing in this notice transfers ownership of Customer Data to Orion, or of the Nova platform to a Customer.
Trademarks
"Orion", "Orion Nova", "Nova", "Atlas", and the associated marks and branding are trademarks of Orion Network LLC. Rights in these marks are claimed under common law on the basis of use; no federal registration is asserted here. All other names, logos, and marks that appear on the Service, including those of Customers, their clients, and third-party services such as Esri/ArcGIS, are trademarks of their respective owners, and their appearance does not imply endorsement or affiliation. Do not use any of these marks without the owner's prior written permission.
Third-party and open-source components
The Service incorporates third-party services and open-source software — including the underlying web framework, UI component libraries, mapping libraries and imagery, and database and ORM tooling — each subject to its own license and copyright. Those components remain the property of their respective owners and are used in accordance with their licenses. A current list of open-source components and their licenses is available on request at hunterbsell@orn-net.com.
Permitted use
Authorized users may view and use the Service and export data solely for their authorized business purpose, as described in the Terms of Service. All other rights are reserved.
Reporting infringement
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, contact Orion at hunterbsell@orn-net.com with (1) a description of the work or right, (2) where it appears on the Service, (3) your contact information, and (4) a statement of your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized. Orion will review and respond as appropriate.
